Welcome to the BGC Veterans Section

Bentley Golf Club has a Veterans` Section which meets every Wednesday for a 150p per competition. The section also has 16 matches a year with 8 other clubs (one at home and one away) and members have the opportunity of playing in some of these matches giving them the chance to play other courses and meet players from those clubs. After each match there is a lunch (jacket and tie, not forgetting trousers, are required). A modest payment, at present £11.00, is levied on those participating in a match to cover the cost of the lunch.

The Section also has an annual captains` dinner and a Christmas lunch. It also runs various competitions such as Texas scrambles, charity comps and an eclectic comp (run over a period of 8 months).

Those eligible to join must be 60 or over (although this age requirement is sometimes varied depending on the demand for membership) and must have retired. Applicants with part time jobs who can commit themselves to playing on Wednesday are welcome.

An annual fee, normally £5, is levied and it costs £5 to join the eclectic competition. Most competitions cost £3 to enter and are sometimes followed by a formal lunch which is charged at cost.
